Chemical groups offer condolences in wake of senator's death When Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) died Monday of viral pneumonia, his passing was marked by many of the chemical groups with whom he worked in recent years in his efforts to modernize the Toxic Substances Control Act. "Senator Frank Lautenberg was a constant champion for his constituents and a committed advocate for children and the environment," American Chemistry Council CEO Cal Dooley said in a statement.
